Is now the time to update your headshot?

Some marketing experts say you should update your headshot at least once a year. If the one you’re using is two years old, it’s probably time to update.

These days, your digital image is more important than ever. Various uses include: networking and events, job hunting, and polishing your online presence. It’s a great time to get a fresh portrait for marketing and social media. A modern headshot is one of the fastest ways to set yourself apart from your competition or make a positive first impression with that new business contact.

What kind of headshot is right for you—lifestyle or studio?

Many people are choosing a more modern “lifestyle” portrait shot in a natural environment, inside or outdoors. I will be happy to suggest a unique background that is artistic, but not distracting.

The traditional studio headshot, on the other hand, is a perfect way to get a consistent background in a controlled setting.

Mobile headshot studio or Baltimore studio

I offer an array of background colors and studio lighting that I can bring to your office and assemble; most medium-sized conference rooms or a large lobby will provide enough space. I’m also happy to schedule an appointment at my Baltimore studio.

Backdrop styles

I can fix that.

After you have your headshot session, I offer professional re-touching so your favorite image will look realistic─just without any imperfections. I will get rid of that pimple that showed up on the day of your photoshoot or the scar from that nose ring you had in college.

Tips and tricks for the best headshot

Start with a great night’s sleep. Then pick out an outfit that you feel comfortable wearing and that looks good for your body type. If you can’t button that top button, don’t squeeze into that jacket. Consider multiple outfits so you have choices. Make sure your clothes look professional and job-appropriate. Stay away from trendy clothes and logos that will soon be out of style. I also can recommend a dry cleaner, hairstylist, and makeup artist … just kidding about the dry cleaner.

Feeling relaxed

Great professional headshots are so valuable for your personal branding needs, but the process doesn’t have to be stressful or intimidating.

Allow me to create a comfortable environment where we can take natural, vibrant portraits you’ll love. Whichever style you choose, I will use a lens that will be most flattering and shoot in natural or soft lighting to give you the best possible results.
